Consumerism and hoarding seem like a pair of twins.
My room has never been clean or orderly. I do not want to throw anything away, because I am afraid that I will also discard the memories attached to those objects, and in doing so, forget myself.
I want to seal every emotion into jars, preserving and categorizing them.To a certain extent, the abundance of material things I choose to keep provides a sense of psychological stability.
Although commodities themselves are soulless and meaningless, the acts of choosing and hoarding them—these entirely personal and private expressions of free will—shape the texture of everyday life and offer a sense of calm to the soul.
